About Timbaland
Timbaland, real name Timothy Zachary Mosley, is one of the largest names in American Music, both as a musician and performer in his own right, and as a producer for some of the biggest names in American R & B and beyond.
His notable producer credits include Ginuwine's 1996 album 'Ginuwine...the Bachelor' and Missy Elliott's 1997 work 'Supa Dupa Fly,' and work on tracks for artists as diverse as Jay-Z, Beck, Aaliyah, Bjork, LL Cool J, Duran Duran, Tweet, Li'l Kim, Paster Troy, Justin Timberlake (including the standout tracks 'Cry Me a River' and 'Sexy Back'), Jennifer Lopez, Elton John, Dr Dre, Nelly Furtado, Xibit, Madonna, Chris Cornell, Lindsey Lohan, the Pussycat Dolls and many more.
As well as supplying tracks and serving as a producer this seemingly endless array of artists, he has also presented his own music- he has released the albums 'Tim's Bio: Life from da Bassment', 'Shock Value' and 'Shock Value II.' He also has a long-standing musical relationship with the rapper Magoo. As a duo they have released the albums 'Welcome To Our World' (1997), 'Indecent Proposal' (2001), Under Construction II (2004) and several compilation albums besides.
He has also been the driving force behind two record labels, the short-lived Beat Club Records, and the Mosley Music Group, which was founded as Beat Club's successor in 2006. This label has served as the home for Timbaland's own music (both 'Shock Value' and 'Shock Value 2' were released through the Mosley Music Group).
In celebration of his contribution to music, Timbaland was made an honorary patron of the Philosophical Society of Trinity College, Dublin, in September 2008.
