About The Wanted
The Wanted is a British Irish pop-dance and pop boy band from London, England which formed in 2009.
The Wanted was formed after a mass audition which was conducted by Jayne Collins in 2009. The selected band members of the time started working on their debut album the same year with producers Guy Chambers, Taio Cruz and Steve Mac.
The debut single of the band, “All Time Low”, was produced by Steve Mac and co-writted by Ed Drewett and was released on the 25th of July 2010. The single debuted at number 1 in the UK Singles Chart and remained for an entire 11 weeks in the top 40.
The second single of the band, “Heart Vacancy”, written by Jonas Jeberg, Mich, Hansen Wayne Hector and Lucas Secon was released on the 17th of October 2010, which was also well received by the public, but reached only the 2nd position in the UK Chart.
The band’s first album, The Wanted, was released on the 25th of October 2010 and with the beginning of November they began their album promotion tour.
In November 2010 the band confirmed that they have signed a record deal with the Def Jam label and will release their album stateside during 2011.
To promote their third single, “Lose My Mind”, the band performed on The X Factor show on the 28th of November.
Starting January 2011, the band started working on their second album. They collaborated with Steve Mac and other illustrious names in the industry.
The first single from the album, Gold Fever, was released on the 13th of March and reached number 3 in the UK Singles Chart. The second single, Glad You Came, which was released on the radio on the 24th of May 2011 and had its official release on the 10th of July 2011 reached number 1 on the iTunes chart.
The second album of the band is announced to be released on the 7th of November 2011.
