About The Big Pink

The Big Pink is an electro-rock duo from London, England. Formed in 2007 by Robbie Furze and Milo Cordell, the Big Pink released their first single “Too Young for Love” in December 2008 on 7” vinyl. The single’s reputation got the band signed to the highly influential 4AD Records in February 2009, and the band started work on their first album. In the meantime, the band continued to release singles worldwide, including “Dominos,” “Velvet,” and the non-album track “Stop the World.” On February 25, 2009, the band won the Philip Hall Radar Award for best new act at the NME Shockwave Awards, and their singles earned the band a worthy and well-earned buzz in the press on both sides of the Atlantic. Their blend of electronica and shoegazing has been seen as genre-shifting and amazing.

Recorded at the legendary Electric Lady Studios in New York City, and released in September 2009, A Brief History of Love won rave reviews by the press both in the United States and Britain. The album reached #56 on the UK Album Charts, and has also made waves in the United States, peaking at #136. It also appeared on many critics’ year-end Best Of lists, including #7 on NME’s Best 50 Albums of 2009 list. Currently, the band is touring the United States for the second time, and played at the Coachella Festival in April 2010. They are scheduled to play at this year’s Lollapalooza Festival in Chicago, and are opening up for Muse at Wembley Stadium this September.
