About Shout For England
Shout For England is an ensemble featuring Dizzie Rascal and James Corden, who recorded the single Shout which is the unofficial anthem of the England football team for the 2010 FIFA World Cup which was held in South Africa.
The Shout single contains different extracts from the well known Tears of Fears song Shout combined with extracts from the song No Diggity by Blackstreet and lyrics from Rascal.
The song was released by Synco Music in partnership with the telecommunication company TalkTalk.
The song was written by Roland Orzbal, Ian Stanley, Bill Withers, teddy Riley, Richard Vick, William Steward, Chauncey Hannibal, Lynise Walters, Dylan Mills, Ray Hedges, Nigel Butler and Blair Dreelan and was produced by Ray hedges, Nick Detnon and Nigel Butler.
Shout was first performed at the popular TV show, Britain’s Got Talent at the finale of the 4th series on the 5th of June and officially released on the 9th of June 2010 in download version and 16th of June in CD single format.
It debuted at number one position in the UK Singles Chart on the 13th of June 2010 due to the high number of downloads of the song. It sold over 100,000 copies in just four days and stole the position from competitive world cup song Wavin’ Flag (The Celebration Mix) by K’naan. All the royalties from the single were donated to the Great Ormond Street Hospital.
Shout stayed at the number one position in the UK singles chart until the 26th of June when it was knocked down by Katy Perry’s single, California Gurls.
