About Plan B
Plan B is an English rapper and actor, who some have called 'the British Eminem.' He was born in Forest Gate, London on 22 October 1983.
His first foray into the music industry was the track 'Cap Back,' which was released on the Grime compilation 'Run the Road' in 2005. He also released the limited edition 7” 'Kidz/Dead and Buried' in the same year. Soon after that, he signed with 679 Recordings and put out a double A-side single, featuring the songs 'No Good' and 'Sick 2 Def.'
Plan B's 2006 began with a setback when his single 'Missing Links' needed to be re-recorded, as it contained an uncleared sample from Radiohead's 'Pyramid Song.' This didn't stop him, however- the May edition of popular Hip-Hop magazine 'Hip Hop Connection' featured his mixtape 'It's time 4 Plan B.' He also made it onto UK TV screens for the first time, with a June 23 Appearance on 'Later With Jools Holland.' Subsequently, his debut album 'Who Needs Actions When You Got Words' climbed to number 30 in the UK album chart.
In July, his single 'Mama (Loves a Crackhead) made number 41 on the UK Singles Chart. He then toured extensively that year, including several festival appearances. In October, he released a Live EP featuring music recorded during this time.
Plan B's 2008 was spent on acting projects- he had a supporting role in the film 'Adulthood,' and recorded three songs for the soundtrack album.
In 2009, he maintained a low profile, but towards the end of the year he announced that his second album, 'The Defamation of Strickland Banks,' was going to be released with an accompanying film of the same title. In January 2010, the album's first single 'Stay Too Long' reached number nine on the UK Singles Chart.
