About Peter Kay's Animated All Stars
Peter Kay’s Animated All Stars is one of the many projects of Peter John Kay, an English comedian, writer, producer, director and actor, born on the 2nd of July 1973 in Bolton.
Peter attended Mount St Joseph High School and left with one GCSE in Art. He then had several jobs in different domains for menial jobs. He also began a degree course at the University of Liverpool, but could not follow the courses due to his work and dropped out. After this he attended the University of Salford where he followed courses for a Higher National Diploma in Media Performance. This also implied a stand-up course which attracted Peter’s attention to a great degree.
Peter followed his first stand-up competition in Manchester which was hosted by Dave Spikey. Peter won the competition, beating another current well known artist, Johnny Vegas.
While working as a cinema usher, Peter followed upon stand-up, by participating in many local events as well as another Comedy Store in Manchester. After losing his job at the cinema, Peter was faced with the choice of finding another menial job or to try to enter the comedy show world.
He entered and won the So You Think You’re Funny competition on Channel 4 in 1997 and so was able to receive his first semi-professional appearances. He then followed his carrier by appearing in various pubs.
2000 was the year in which Peter achieved mainstream recognition, with the show Live At The Top Tower. After this, production began on Phoenix Nights which was Peter’s most notable TV program. The series was based on one of Peter’s previous small series, Peter Jay Thing “In the Club”.
Besides television, Peter also followed an active carrier in stage shows and launched numerous DVD’s. He also appeared in different events all throughout the 2000-2010 period.
Peter also released different singles, among which we would like to remind: In This the Way to Amarillo, Sleep with Texas, The Official BBC Children in Need Medley and I Know Him So Well with Susan Boyle.
The Official BBC Children in Need Medley was a project conducted by Peter Kay in which celebrity voiced different characters. The project needed 132 hours to mix the vocals for seven songs and 8 months to animate. The single raised 170000 pounds for Children in Need, with more than 265000 CDs, DVDs and downloads.
