About Pendulum
Three great music enthusiasts Gareth McGrillen, Paul Harding and Rob Swire came together to forms this band called Pendulum. This Australian-British band was founded in 2002. Before forming this drum and bass band, McGrillen and Swire were part of the Xygen rock band while Harding was a prolific DJ in the drum and bass genre. The trio founded the band in Perth and in 2003, later it was relocated to the UK. Their first song was "Vault" which was appreciated greatly by the music lovers.
Their debut album “Hold Your Colour”, released in 2005, established their supremacy in the drum and brass genre. With sales figure of 225,000 copies sold in UK alone, this is a very popular drum and brass album. But Pendulum has always been appreciated for experimenting and mixing drum and brass genre with other genres. In their new releases, you can witness the amalgamation of different styles such as alternative rock, heavy metal and house music.
Pendulum are also very popular for their live performances. In their live shows, an electrifying live band setup with advanced visual display can always be visible. During their live shows, they create magic with the fusion of rock with drum and bass.
In their current musical exploration, Pendulum extensively rely on fusion using electronica and alternative rock. They are also seen using acoustic instruments widely. Sometimes they use electronic vocal effects as well to maintain a variation in their music. They are excellent in mixing up different instrumental sounds and give a real time electrifying effect.
