About Parade
Parade, full name Mice Parade, is a shoegaze band led by the percussionist Adam Pierce. The members of this band, including Adam Pierce, are Caroline Lufkin, Dan Lippel, Doug Scharin, Dylan Cristy, Gunnar Örn Tynes and Josh Mckay. The band is from the New York City and got its name from Pierce's name actually. The anagram of his name is "Mice Parade".
Adam Pierce owned two record labels namely Bubble Core Records and Fat Cat Records and initially parade’s albums were released on these labels only. In 1998, Parade released their debut single entitled My Funny Friend Scott. And then, the band revealed the band’s capabilities of blending live instrumentation to generate distinctive sound. Adam Pierce’s intricate percussion was also appreciated by the music lovers. Pierce’s excellent bending style became more visible when the band’s debut album “The True Meaning of Boodleybaye” was released later that year.
In 1999, the band released Ramda, in which once again Pierece’s capabilities were acknowledged when he recorded the tracks and mixed the album in one take. This gave music lovers an experimental and improvised post-rock feel. In year 2000, the band released “Collaborations” in which the band featured contributors such as Aki Tsuyoko, Curtis Harvey, Doug Scharin, Jim O'Rourke and Nobukazu Takemura.
In 2001, Pierce formed a specialized touring band around the already existing band of Parade. This time Pierce used African and Indian musical influences to give a vivid rhythm to his band’s music. Vocals were also improvised to make Parade an all-inclusive band entertaining all types of music lovers.
