About OneRepublic
In 2002 a musical band by the name of OneRepublic became one of the most popular bands around. Their success did not begin with a live concert tour, or any known singles or albums. In fact they first came into the public eye was via the internet site Myspace. They were in fact one of the very first unsigned groups to achieve a wide following of fans. In 2006 the group signed onto the record label Mosley Music Group. Their first single with this label was released in 2007.
At present OneRepublic is working with Mosley Music Group and Interscope to provide their fans with quality music. The style of music OneRepublic plays is that of Pop. Their group has also worked with Timbaland, Leona Lewis and Sara Bareilles in associated acts. Band member-wise there are two former members and 5 current members who have contributed towards the band’s success.
The former members are Tim Myers and Jerrod Bettis. The current members of OneRepublic are Ryan Tedder who is one of the founding members, Zack Filkins who is the other founding member, Eddie Fisher, Brent Kutzle and Drew Brown (the newer members). In addition to being known on Myspace the group is now a well recognized band that have a song of theirs being used in the Til Schweiger movie “Zweiohrküken”.
The musical styles of U2 and The Beatles have helped to influence OneRepublic’s style of music. While they do not follow either of these groups’ way of singing or playing they have used them as inspiration to motivate the group to produce and perform music in a manner which will move their fans, reminiscent to U2’s fan success. It is these factors which have helped to launch OneRepublic as being a top performing group even when they were not signed to any record label.
