About N-Dubz
N-Dubz are a London-based hip-hop group currently signed to All Around the World Records. They have released two albums, 'Uncle B' (on 17 November 2008) and 'Against All Odds' (on 16 November 2009), both of which have gone platinum with over 300,000 sales each. They have also had six top 40 hits in the UK, most notably 'I need You' which was released on the ninth of November 2009 and reached a peak chart position of number 5.
Originally schoolmates from Quintin Kynaston School in St John's Wood, London, the band made their first appearance in the UK charts- a number 57 placing in 2007 for 'Feva Las Vegas.'
Further exposure followed, including an appearance for the band on the Channel 4 show 'Dubplate Drama.' Things then began to take off for the group, who won a 2007 MOBO award for Best Newcomer. Hits followed, including Dappy's solo song 'Love For My Slum' which was the subject of a minor media controversy for its depiction of deprived conditions and class violence.
In 2008-9, their career jumped up a notch. Despite such setbacks as the noted illness of singer Tulisa, who fainted onstage during a performance and was rumored to be suffering from Swine Flu, and criminal charges which were levied against member DJ Maze, the band enjoyed another step up in popularity, and a move from Polydor Records to their current home, All Around the World records. Dappy duetted with Tinchy Strider on his 2009 single 'Number One' and 'Uncle B' went Platinum within 2 months of its release.
N-Dubz continue to go from strength to strength, and despite the controversies which have dogged their career, they show no sign of losing their popular appeal.
