LMFAO is an electro hip hop group consisting of DJs Redfoo and SkyBlu. Redfoo, original name Stefan Kendal Gordy, was born on September 3, 1975 while SkyBlu was born on August 23, 1986. SkyBlu’s original name is Skyler Husten Gordy. Redfoo is the son of Berry Gordy who is the founder of the record label Motown while SkyBlu is the grandson of Berry Gordy. This uncle-nephew duo formed the band LMFAO in Los Angeles, America in 2006. LMFAO is the abbreviation of "Laughing My Fucking Ass Off" and pronounced by its initial letters to have a sanitized form.
The theme of the music of this American pop group is based on partying and drinking. They generally mention their music as "party rock". They released Party Rock EP on July 1, 2008, on the iTunes music store. Their full album was released on July 7, 2009, which reached at number 2 position on the U.S Dance Chart. They released their first single "I'm in Miami Bitch" in December 2008. This single reached at number 51 position on the Billboard Hot 100.
In 2010, LMFAO got an international recognition when the uncle-nephew duo appeared in the song of David Guetta entitled "Gettin' Over You.” Thereafter, they released their second album entitled “Sorry for Party Rocking” in 2011. The first single from this album "Party Rock Anthem" has been the most successful song of LMFAO’s career. The song peaked at number one in the UK, USA and Canada besides reaching at top in ten other countries. The song reached at top ten in so many countries.
