About Kylie Minogue
On 28th May 1968, Bethlehem Hospital in Melbourne (Australia), saw the birth of a new era, Kylie Ann Minogue. She was born to Carol Minogue and was the eldest of 3 children who grew up in the suburbs of Surrey Hills. Kylie worked on her talent as a singer, songwriter and an actress. She was the eldest of 3 children and began her career in the Australian Soap, “Neighbours”. In 1987 she kick started her profession as a singing in 1987 with ‘Locomotion’ that perched itself on the top of the Australian Charts.
She eventually went on to give us 5 chart topping albums and a multitude of hits that seen more consecutive hits in the UK than any other artist. Kylie is well known for her sexy costumes and changeable appearances that go with it. “Heat” magazine even voted her as ‘Best Dressed Female’ by its readers. Everyone was crazy over Kylie. Her image could make even the dullest day bright. So bright that she sued “People” magazine for publishing a fake nude of her bottom in their January 2003 issue.
She did face a lot of criticism by her critics in her earlier years but she overcame all that and became a phenomenon in both Australia and the UK. She expanded her fame by going ahead to promote her own lingerie brand called "Love Kylie”.
Riding on fame and stardom, she had the privilege to perform at the Summer Olympic Games (2000) in Sydney. The children’s charity NSPCC (National Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Children) turned to Kylie to become their first ambassador.
Her success and fame was not without problems. In 2005, Kylie was diagnosed with breast cancer. She received overwhelming support from the public and (believe it or not), from Prime Minister John Howard himself.
