About Kelly Rowland
Kelly Rowland was born on 11th February 1981 in Georgia. Her full name was Kelendria Trene Rowland and was brought up in Texas. Her father was an abusive alcoholic, so her mother had taken her away from him when she was a child. Kelly acted in a number of sitcoms and big-screen movies. And yes, chocolate ice cream is her favorite.
At the age of 4, Kelly was mesmerized by the voice of Whitney Houston and captured her interest in singing. In the 1990’s she went on to become the founding members of one of the best-selling female musical groups of all time (Destiny’s Child) with Beyoncé Knowles and LaTavia Roberson. Kelly and Beyoncé were childhood friends and even lived together. Of course, Kelly now lives in her own place at Sugar Land, Texas.
In 2004 she was engaged to Roy Williams of the Dallas Cowboys but was not successfully in seeing the light after 2 years. The engagement broke off in 2006. Standing at a height of just 5’8 feet, she is a total control freak who won numerous multi-platinum albums, chart toppers, Grammys and other awards. Above all, she has a strong fan following and is very popular amongst the press.
Kelly admits that her music style is greatly influenced by Sade. Her lyrics tackle
everything from the Lord above to mesmerizing love. To her, it could be anything that sounds good and make you break a move to the grove. She uses her music as a medium to portray her personality to her listeners.
