About Jeremih
Jeremih Felton or Jeremih under his stage name, is an American R&B and Hip Hop recording artist and producer. He was born on the 17th of July 1987 in Chicago Illinois in a musical family. He began to play musical instruments at the age of three and even learned by himself how to play the drums, piano and saxophone.
Jeremih attended Morgan Park High School. Here he was part of the marching band and the Latin jazz band. He graduated at the age of 16 and entered the University of Illinois to pursue an engineering career. While performing a tribute to Ray Charles on the campus talent show’s he realized that he desired more a music career and in 2007 he enrolled in Columbia College Chicago for a degree in music business. While he was attending Columbia College Chicago, Jeremih followed collaboration with producer Mick Schultz, with whom he recorded a song, My Ride.
In February 2009, Jeremih met with L.A. Reid, chairman of Def Jam Production and A&R Karen Kwak, vice president of the same label. After he offered a small performance for the two he was assigned to the label on the very same day.
In June 2009, Jeremih released his eponymous debut album, Jeremih. The album debuted 6 on the Billboard 200 and sold 59000 copies in just the first week. To promote the album, Jeremih participated in the America’s Most Wanted Tour, alongside well known artist such as Lil Wayne and Soulja Boy Tell.
In August 2009, Jeremih was selected to perform for the Chicago Public Schools campaign for children to return to school.
On the 1st of June 2010, Jeremih released the first single of his second album All About You, with the title, I Like feat. Ludacris. The album was released on the 28th of September 2010.
