About Example
Example, born Elliot John Gleave on 20 June, 1982, is a British rapper. He started his career in London, and released three singles on his own label, All the Chats. After the release of "I Don't Want To" in 2006, he captured the attention of Radio 1 in Britain, and was signed to the Beats label in London. His first single for the label was a response to Lily Allen's "Smile," a track entitled "Vile." He released a few other singles ("What We Made," "You Can't Rap," "So Many Roads," and a re-release of "I Don't Want To"), and an album (What We Made) before the Beats label folded in late 2007. In 2008, he released the single "Me + Mandy" on his own imprint, All the Chats.
Signing to Data Records in 2009, he released a new single entitled "Watch the Sun Come Up," which became a modest success in Britain. He is set to release his new album, Won't Go Quietly in the spring of 2010, and released a single of the same name on 17 January, 2010.
