About Enrique Iglesias
Enrique Miguel Iglesias Preysler, a Spanish singer-songwriter was born at 8th May 1975 in Madrid, Spain. His father Julio Iglesias was a famous singer and mother Isabel Preysler was a journalist. His father belongs to Spanish-Jewish ancestry, and mother was a Spanish Filipino. After the divorce Julio moved to United States and for his musical career. Enrique spent his childhood days in as United States, Serbia and Spain. In 1985 in Enrique along with his brother moved to United States of America to live with his father.
Enrique always wanted to be a self-made man, and he never told her father about his musical career ambitions. He does not want to take advantage of his father’s famous surname. In fact, in the early days of his career he had to borrow the money from his friends in order to record the tapes for his songs in English and Spanish language. Like any other celebrity Enrique was always in the controversies. In 2001 it was often reported about his affair with the famous tennis star Anna Kournikova, which both of them refused.
With the Mexican label Fonovisa, Enrique started his musical career and within a few years after he was one of the most popular Latino artists in Latin America. His Spanish albums were among the top sellers for many years. After his tremendous success in the Spanish singing market, he stepped into the English language singing market and signed a contract with Universal Music for mammoth $48,000,000. Recently, he signed up a new contract with the music giant Interscope and Universal music group level.
According to the famous musical indexing magazine Billboard Hot 100, Enrique’s four songs were in top #5, including two #1s. His recent album Euphoria was a tremendous hit in both Spanish and English with more than 55 millions copies already sold.
