About DJ Fresh
DJ Fresh is the stage name of Daniel Stein, an English based drum and bass artist, who was born on the 11th April 1977.
DJ Fresh is one of the base members of the Bad Company, a drum and base band which was formed in 1998 by Renegade Hardware (Darren White and Jason Maldini) and Absolute Zero (Stein).
In the early years of Bad Company, DJ Fresh, along with the other three members founded a record label, BC Recordings and a website, Dogs On Acid, an electronic music website which was launched in 2001.
In 2002, DJ Fresh decided to resume his solo career and founded Breakbeat Punck. This later merged with Adam F’s Kaos Recordings in 2003, forming Breakbeat Kaos.
On the 18th of August 2003 Fresh released his first compilation album, Breakbeat Kaos.
In 2004, Dogs on Acid received its own imprint. Fresh has worked with various renowned artists under his imprint such as: The Pet Shop Boys, Apollo 440, Grooverider, DJ Shadow or Andy C. This is the year Fresh released his second compilation album, Jungle Sound: Bassine Strikes Back!
2005 brought forth, Fresh’s third compilation album, Bass Invaderz, which was released in February.
In 2006 DJ Fresh released his first studio album, Escape from Planet Monday which included features such as “All that Jazz” on Breakbeat Kaos. This year also brought forth the forth compilation album, Jungle Sound: Gold, which was released in November.
In 2009 Fresh released a 12’’ of “Heavyweight” with the Digital Soundboy label.
On the 16th of August DJ Fresh released his second studio album, “Kryptonite”, which reached number 4 on the UK Dance Chart.
