About B.o.B
B.o.B. is the stage name of rapper, singer, songwriter and record producer Bobby Ray Simmons Jr., born on the 15th of November 1988 in Winston Salem, North Carolina.
Just after a month from his birth his family moved to Decatur Georgia. He had music inclination from where he was young. During elementary and high school B.o.B. used to play the trumpet in the school band. B.o.B. decided to follow a music carrier in the sixth grade. His father, a pastor, disapproved of this at first, but later came to embrace his son’s decision. B.o.B. followed the Columbia High School in Decatur.
In 2007 B.o.B. began to be acknowledged in the music industry. The underground single, Haterz Everywhere feat. Wes Lif, reached number 5 on the Billboard Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles.
This was followed by series of different singles which reached different top spots. The most notable, I’ll Be In the Sky, released in 2008 reached as high as 115 on the Follow Chart and 13 in the Top 100 Rap Songs 2008.
On the 27th of April 2010 B.o.B. released his debut album, The Adventure of Bobby Ray. The album was scheduled to be released on the 25th of May, but the date was advanced due to the success of his song, Nothin’On You feat. Bruno Mars. The album sold 84000 copies in the first week and debuted on the first spot on the Billboard 200, making B.o.B. the 13th male solo artist to debut at number one in the first week.
There were another 3 singles from the album: Don’t Let Me Fall, released on the 6th of April 2010, Airplanes, released on the 13th of April 2010 and Bet I, released on the 20th of April 2010.
