About 3OH!3
3OH!3 are an electronic music group, consisting of Sean Foreman (born august 27, 1985) and Nathaniel Mote (born January 13 1984). The duo hail from Boulder, Colorado, and have been making music together since 2004, when they met whilst studying physics together at the University of Colorado. The band's name, which is pronounced 'three-oh-three,' is a reference to their local 303 area code. It also stands for their hand sign, which consists of two thumbs and forefingers held touching each other, and the rest of the fingers splayed out so that there are three fingers on either side of the 'zero' this makes.
3OH!3's music is described by the band as a mix of alternative music, electronica and hip hop. Their first success came in 2008 when they played on Denver's Warped Tour 2008, and had their song 'Crazy Asshole Chikz' featured on the compilation drawn from this event. They then headlined the 2009 'Alternative Press' tour, with other bands like Hit The Lights and A Rocket To the Moon.
In Summer 2009 they also played the UK's Reading and Leeds festivals.
Their first album, '3OH!3' was released independently on July 2, 2008. They followed this up with their second album 'Want,' on July 8 2008. By this time, the band were signed to Photo Finish Records, and this record achieved a chart placing of 2 in the US Dance and Electronic Albums chart.
They have also collaborated with other artists, most notably Katy Perry on their 2009 single 'Starstruck.'
The band are currently working on their third studio album.
