About 30 Seconds to Mars
Hailing from Los Angeles, California, the rock band 30 Seconds to Mars started their rise to fame in 1998. The mainstays of the band are brothers Jared and Shannon Leto. They have been with the band since its inception by brother Shannon Leto. The music played by the band has been described as a mixture of rock, hard rock, emo, progressive metal, post grunge, and alternative metal to name a few.
The band has run through a number of guitarists due to touring problems. Kevin Drake was the first to join the two brothers. He was followed in short order by Solon Bixler, and Matt Wachter. Matt however was with the band from 2001 to 20007, bringing the total number of band members to four, between the years of 2003 and 2007. 2003 is when Tomo Miličević joined the band as lead guitarist. Since Matt Wachter’s departure however, the band have not signed on a fourth person. 30 Seconds to Mars therefore is now comprised of Jared and Shannon Leto, and Tomo Miličević.
It is also interesting to note that Jared Leto also has a number of Hollywood acting credits under his belt, having played roles in such movies as Fight Club, Panic Room, Alexander, and Lord of War to name but a few.
With so much talent in this group, it is no surprise that they have amassed a number of awards, as well as a loyal following of fans. Taking all this into account, it can be safely concluded that 30 Seconds to Mars is a band to watch out for.
